GEORGIA MOUNTAINS APPLES RENTAL CABIN ELLIJAY GEORGIA MOUNTAINS
Although Georgia is called the Peach State, you will never convince the residents and many tourists in Ellijay that Georgia isn't the Apple State. Instead of being peachy, everything here is rosy and shiny as an apple! The Georgia peach is not forgotten in the North Georgia Mountains but apples are featured since they are grown in Ellijay. When in season, you can choose fresh Georgia Mountain grown apples, Georgia grown peaches as well as a nice selection of Georgia fresh produce including fruit and vegetables at the local apple stands. In addition, ice cream, pies, donuts, breads, muffins, cookies, caramel apples, apple and peach cider, apple dumplings are also sold for your delight.
Visit 11 apple orchards and take a ride through scenic Apple Orchard Alley on Highway 52 East in Ellijay to enjoy the rolling hills, green pastures, expansive mountain vistas and buy fresh Ellijay apples, fresh apple cider and other favorite apple goodies.
Apple picking with your family is a fun experience. Plan to pick apples at the Ellijay apple orchards in September.
Be sure to visit the Blue Ridge Georgia Mountains for the numerous apple orchards and farmstands mostly located in Ellijay although you will find a few others scattered in neighboring areas in the Georgia Mountains. Mercier Orchards in Blue Ridge is an all time favorite with tourists and locals year round all time farmstand. Mercier Orchards features homemade fried pies, donuts, fritters, apple and fruit pies, breads, cider, apple butter.
Another favorite apple farmstand stop is Panorama Orchards in Ellijay on Highway 515 for some of their famous fried apple pies topped with ice cream.
The kids will delight in visiting the petting zoo at Hillcrest Orchards in Apple Orchard alley on Highway 52. Hillcrest is more than a roadside stand or apple orchard. It is a farm experience and entertainment for the entire family with a petting zoo and activities. During their Apple Pickin' Jubilee Days pick your own apples, wagon rides, playground, pig races, moonshine museum, entertainment, food, corn maze, petting farm and pony rides. They also have a "festival" on October weekends with the same activities as Apple Pickin' Jubilee except there is no apple picking. Be sure to order the hot apple pie and ice cream or the apple cider donuts at the bakery and ice cream shop.
In September, plan to spend a day drinking cold fresh apple cider, visitng the apple orchards and picking your own fresh apples at one of the Ellijay local apple orchards.
The North Georgia cabins in Ellijay are located near Apple Alley which is Highway 52 heading east to Dahlonega out of Ellijay.
Georgia Apple Festival
The Annual Georgia Apple Festival in Ellijay is always held on the second and third weekends in October at the Ellijay Lions Club Fairground South of Ellijay off Highway 5. Hours: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day rain or shine!
The Ellijay Georgia Apple Festival features over 300 vendors with music, foods,handmade, hand-crafted items, baked items that feature the Georgia apples as well as many on-site demonstrations of how selected types of crafts are made. The Georgia Apple Festival provides entertainment and fun for the entire family.

Or relax and watch the kids play while listening to live Bluegrass Music on the weekends with food on the grounds. Who knows, you might get in on some line dancing or square dancing lessons!

The 13th annual Apple Pickin’ jubilee will be held on weekends- Sept. 13-14,
Sept. 20-21 and September 27-28.
Pick your own apples, Milk Buttercup the cow. Meet Barney the Talking Bull. Ride the Time Twister back to the early 1900’s. An operating gristmill will be grinding corn and selling cornmeal.
